Who am I?

I am a traveling Gospel music singer by day, and a Fantasy/Fiction writer by night. For the last 21 years I have lived in a 45-foot bus with my 8 siblings and mom and dad. However, it’s just 6 of us siblings still on the road traveling and singing currently.

This blog is called The Anonymous Novelist, but it never was very inconspicuous. I don’t have any dark and ugly secrets to hide or anything like that. The name for the blog comes from the fact that I have been traveling the world and singing for so long now, that anyone who knows me will only ever know me as a singer, not a writer. Thus, it is almost as if I’m writing anonymously. But, it’s even deeper than that. The fact that it is called The Anonymous Novelist means it really could be anyone behind the keyboard here. Any one of you reading this could do exactly what I am doing right here. There is nothing inherently special about me.

What is the site about?

theanonymousnovelist.com is basically a fantasy writer’s perspective on life. Me: I’m the fantasy writer.

To start with, there are a few things you should know about me. First of all, as I mentioned, I travel and sing gospel music with my family full-time. Due to the fact that I am a writer, most of what I write will be more or less related to writing. In addition to being a writer, I am a Christian, therefore I will also write about spiritual topics. Finally, I write fantasy. Consequently, paired with points 1, 2, and 3, this makes me…different.

I am a fantasy writer, therefore I write about worlds that don’t exist, where people who don’t exist, go on adventures that don’t exist. The most important thing to remember about fantasy is that it is a tool not a genre. Therefore, it is not inherently good or evil. The purpose of fantasy is to blow up reality so that we can see more clearly what is happening.

I probably have the most unique perspective of anyone you’ve ever met.

If I can flip your perspective 180 degrees,

I will have turned your world upside-down.

And that’s the fun of writing. So, what do you say? Are you ready for an adventure? Are you ready to have your world turned on its head? Come see life through the lens of perspective!

    • Hey Mike,
I have actually tried Cherry Dr. Pepper. It’s pretty awesome, but I think I like Grape Dr. Pepper better. It’s only available at Sonic though.
Went to Frankenmuth a few years ago, great place. We actually were based out of MI for the first 12 years of our ministry.
I’m glad you enjoy the blog, it’s fun to write and I hope It’s helping someone in some way.

    • Thanks Deb! It honestly has been a tremendous adventure! God’s brought us a long way in 21 years. I look forward to having you read along and experience the journey with me!
