This is where it gets real. For the first year ever, I am participating in a writing challenge/competition/event thingy. National Novel Writing Month, or NaNoWriMo, is the challenge to write a 50,000 word novel in the month of November.
Sounds fun, right? Well, I’m going to be taking part in this, if for no other reason than to just write a novel. But it’s also a great opportunity to network with other writers and get my name out there. So it’s an exciting time that I’m sure I’ll enjoy the challenge of if not the actual writing.
I’ve got a basic outline, story description, title, and cover art on my NaNoWriMo page if you’d like to check it out.
Why am I doing this?
For one thing, it’s a great exercise and training tool. But it’s a chance for readers to discover my writing. As my readership expands, so does my influence. I want to make a difference with my writing, otherwise I might as well give it up now. There has to be a reason and purpose God blesses me with the desire and ability to write.
So, I hope whatever I do, whatever this challenge amounts to, in whatsoever state I am therewith to be content: and content with Christ. God is all I need. He continually proves this by stripping away everything else in my life. The sooner I learn to put Him first in my focus, the sooner He can use me to do great things for Him. And I know great things are just ahead!
As always, thanks for reading.
