Hello again! It’s been so long since I’ve been myself I hardly know who I am anymore. Life has changed since I started this blog over a year ago. Back then it was easy to write every day, I’m really not sure when it happened, but I lost my drive, maybe lost my nerve: passion, dedication, interest, call it what you will, I failed.
To make up for that, I’m going to try and start over, and I really mean start over. I’m not just going to try and pick this back up, I’m going to start again with it. So, why the title? It seems antithetical to my previous statement. Well, in order for me to begin again with this blog, life has to stop. I can’t keep allowing myself to become apathetic towards others. My ministry to the world starts here on the blog; this is where I strengthen and prove my faith, my method and theory of writing, and my articulation of the gospel. This blog is my back yard mission field, so to speak, and somehow the location closest is the easiest neglected.

Starting over: here is a random comic that has absolutely no bearing on today’s post.

And now for a verse from scripture that has everything to do with today’s post:

The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life, of whom shall I fear?

–Psalms 27:1

Why would let ourselves be intimidated and fearful of this world and its forces of evil? God is bigger than this world and every enemy that would seek to bring us down. Why should we fear? Do we succumb to fear? If God is on our side, why aren’t we winning every time we fight? Sometimes the answer to this is that we are not fighting, and sometimes it is that we no longer fight with the same fire and drive that we once did. God will not work through you if you don’t allow Him to. The Lord works through willing hearts and surrendered lives.

We need to find where our priorities lie, and regardless if they are for Christ or against Him, we should realize what is more important. You will not do the kingdom of God any good if you are not all in; you certainly won’t if you are not in at all. You are either for Christ or you are against Him, the middle ground is what is considered against Christ. Your priorities straight and then your motives straight. Decide what side you’re on first, then figure out why. God doesn’t want half Christians any more than the world wants half sinners.

But, to the saved and sure, those who are secure in the hand of God and know to whom they belong, the question is staggering as it is a rebuke to those that do fear. Why would you fear? How can you fear when God is on your side? Why do we let ourselves become discouraged, downtrodden, intimidated, pressured, and even defeated? It is our choice to be defeated when God is on our side, He cannot be beaten, so only our weak faith can make us lose.

I don’t want to lose anymore. Only I can make it stop.

As always, thanks for reading.
