Wherever You Are

You are waiting to hear thunder and see lightning in the sky. Oh, but God can work his wonders through a still small voice inside.

The will of God won’t lead you where the grace of God can’t keep you.

I’m targeting this post specifically at those my age and who share my predicament. The song after which this post was named has meant a tremendous deal to me, both for its message, and the integrity of the artist who I first heard sing it. For all of you who are unsteadily diving into life, those who are unsure what God has for you but know you need to do something; for anyone who’s ever been clueless, been unsure, been confused and scared; for anyone who’s ever felt a call to do great things; for anyone with tremendous talent or potential therefore; for anyone who loves miracles, is a restless soul, feels the forge fires of Christ igniting in their spirit: wherever you are, He is there. God is with you. He will reveal His plans for you as you draw closer to him.

Faith would be easy if we saw what was before us, if we knew the end result, but it wouldn’t be faith. We are, (yes, I said “we”, I’m included in this), waiting to hear thunder and see lighting, brilliant and obvious signs from God, but what if what we’re really waiting for is a still, small whisper?

Folks, I know where you are, in fact, I’m right there now. The place where you’re just not sure. Do you move forward, take a step back, or do you stay right where you are? It’s tough to live a life without any certain direction, without knowing where you’re going. But I can promise you, wherever you are, and wherever you’re going, God’s with you.

The best way to find out what God has for you is by getting to know Him better. Read His Word and spend time in conversation with Him. Your answer might not be a billboard in the sky telling you to become a doctor or missionary, but it will be obvious when it happens.

Do you know what’s going on? Because I’m confused… I sympathize on personal level with the character of Maya Hart, (if you haven’t noticed, I’m a fan), mostly because she, in many ways is me. I don’t come from a broken home, but I am a broken man. I don’t think very highly of myself, when I boast it is a pretense to cover my inadequacies. My friends make me better, and I balance their lives with some of the excitement and intruige of mine. I’m a warped, messed-up kinda guy who never seems to get it right; but I’m trying to do better. I don’t know what I feel or who I am yet, my identity in Christ is never in question, but my purpose in His Kingdom is a mystery yet to be revealed… I don’t know about tomorrow, but I know He is with me.

As always, thanks for reading.
